Do they deliver??
Food was horrible will never go again but the owners were very nice
I give popular Piccadilly Fish & Chips located at 1348 Polk St, San Francisco, CA 94109 FIVE FRIED STARS. A great spot for some FRIED FISH. 5️⃣ 🌟's I really enjoy this place and the none touristy vibe that surrounds it.
MoreTo grease
Love the fresh hand battered fish. Hands down best fish and chips in the city.
Great fish and chips in a rather run down location. Nice couple who need help in interior design to bring location up to the Great tasting fresh food.
MoreStill the best fish and chip in SF. Whenever I am nearby, I try to visit and renew my culinary enjoyment!
MoreCan't say much for the place. But adequate.
My favorite hole in the wall for deep fried fish fillets and shrimp with fries. Order is served wrapped in newspaper and I love every greasy bite.
MoreI didn't like it because my fish was raw, not fully cooked, not crispy at all.i went back to tell the guy but they were closed. I just donated my money.
MoreAmazing experience
I have loved their onion rings since the early 80's.
I love fish and chips, not sure if the ones here are that good. I was able to finish mine but the rest of my friends did not seem that happy.
MoreWish they had a calamari and chips option. But the fish and chips are great. Little pricey but that's the norm for San Fran. Overall great fried fish and chips place with other fried seafood options.
MoreI don't know what all the praising is about. I didn't find anything praiseworthy here. The fish and chips, that don't taste like anything and are greasy, are NOT wrapped in newspaper, but served in way too small portions in little plastic baskets. The owner doesn't speak a single word of English and is inpatient and grumpy. Especially looking at the price, it is not worth it by any means. $14 is just way too much for 4 tasteless pieces of what is supposed to be fish and 5 so possible even more tasteless, soggy fries.
MorePiccadilly fish and chips from the start brought back memories of my time in Cambridge England. I walked in purely on a recommendation and was beyond amazed with the quality of food and the affordable price. This place is one of the few remaining that doesn’t get the appreciation it deserves. During my second trip I tried their crab cakes and enjoyed them as well. The fish I personally believe to be better than Cambridge’s.
MoreGood old fish and chips like back home. Place tidy and authentic. Fish was fresh and chips were soft and well fried. Our tour guide recommended not to go so glad we did as the US relies heavily on fast food chains. This was far superior to the rubbish the chains served.
MoreLightly breaded cod and onion rings are amazing. Very nice owners
Way too oily. Tasteless batter. Worst fish and chips I've've had. In fact, worst food I've had in sf. Worst display of courtesy. It's like they don't even want you there. Now I know why I never see any customers here.
MoreThis was my second visit to Piccadilly Fish & Chips, I really enjoyed the food. Last time I ordered fried mushrooms, I always order fried mushrooms on any menu. These were the first time I had freshly breaded mushrooms, not pre-breaded and frozen to be resold. They must make these in-house. The same can be said for their fried zucchini, just look at the picture. Those are fresh! The chips are soft and creamy on the inside. These are not fries, these are definitely chips. The fish is tender and the prawns are flavorful. I picked up my order and walked home with them in 8 minutes, it had no negative affect. Although the smell of the chips were driving me crazy during the walk. This fat gurl highly recommends Piccadilly Fish & Chips.
MoreI've been going to them since theyhad the store at Larkin and Post. They've never change and it's simple, nothing fancy. Same amount as the past 30years. The only change is they no longer serve Octopus Legs. Other than that, I will never stop going here
MoreBeen going there since the 60's when it was owned by a British couple. Then a Korean family took over, and continued the great food for decades. I moved away in the 80's. Whenever I go back to San Francisco I always stop in and get the best fish & chips (and onion rings) I've ever had, and I've tried places up and down the coast and Victoria BC. Thanks for many years of wonderful tastiness!
MoreVery tasteless fish. Owner was very kind but nothing else is going for this place. I rather spend 5$ more and have fish that tastes like something.
MoreNo atmosphere to speak of but the fish and onion rings we're excellent
Perfect fish. Used to go to Old Chelsea's back in the day. Same owners. Great chips that come in newspaper. Get lots of vinegar!
MoreIt feels like all these reviews are about a totally different place! New owner maybe? The fish& chips were way more expensive than we anticipated. The guy doesn't speak a word English, and screamed at me that he wanted my PIN (did I have to tell him?), so I had to go behind the counter to enter my PIN. We got our fish&chips a bit later. We paid $14 for 4 (small) pieces of fish, and like 10 fries in total. The fries were almost raw, and NOT seasoned at all. The fish had more dough around it than fish inside of it. The guy (owner?) meanwhile watches some Chinese show in the corner of the shop, volume on max.
MoreGood seafood from a working lobster man. Definitely rustic. A little pricey, but worth it for the freshness of the stock. Pick your own lobster, fairly priced to take home.
MoreGood place to have lunch I ate there twice a week
Fresh and Delicious. Must try the onion rings.
Undercooked fish that’s certainly not fresh and soggy fries from old oil. Overall a filthy looking joint. Best to stay away if you have working taste buds.
MoreI wouldn’t give this food to my worst enemies. The fries are weak and very fatty and do not taste like anything. The fish does not taste like fish and is also very greasy and dirty. Please spend your money elsewhere. This food is not more worth than a nickel.
MoreComing here was a really unique experience. I recommend it to anyone.
Called in our order ahead of time, was told it would take 15 minutes, was more like 30 minutes. Not worth the wait, it was extremely greasy, way more than any other fish and chips i’ve had anywhere. We all had tummy aches after, will not go back.
MoreThe oil used for frying tasted old. The fish was soaked in grease. The owners were nice though.
Moresolid fish n chips all around, the current owners are some of the kindest people i’ve ever met
MoreLow cost , nice taste simple fish , mushrooms, onion rings or chips etc .
Good inexpensive Seafood
I give it a 3 because the guy cooked it fresh and the fries are good The fish was horrible. No salt. No seasoning. Just batter. The batter taste like pancake mix. It's cheap. but it's worth a few bucks to go somewhere else. No napkins. No plate for to go. Just paper. I used an old news paper to wipe my hands from the grease
MoreGreat Deep Fried mushrooms
It was 10 min to closing time and they young Asian boi said no more orders he is closed he has to leave bad service never will go back
MoreService was ok
I liked the fish so much that I went twice in the same day and I plan on going back there as often as I can. The fish is cooked just perfectly and very flaky. I love fish and this place is the place for me.
MoreBest in SF! Love this place. Old school.
The owner is genuinely a nice guy. Always feel welcomed from the moment when I walk in because he always grates me with a smile. The taste of the fish and onion rings reminds us of England. It is fresh, fluffy and fulfilling. Honestly, it beats the fish and chips that I had in England! Highly recommend it! One of the few good places that only locals know about. Also the prawn “shrimp” are tasty too.
MoreThis place smelled like old grease prices shown online are not accurate
I've been going to picadeli since they were on larkin street. Love the fried mushrooms
MoreReal French fries, hand-dipped fish, all fried in an English fish fryer and wrapped in paper and newspaper. Always delicious! We will even occasionally drive from across the Bay for these.
MoreThe BEST 2pc & Mushrooms Zuccinne
The fried fish was horrible. I ate the fries and was forced to throw away my 2 piece.
MoreCalling all non-foodies! Here's just what you want - crispy fish & chips. Oh and did I mention the onion rings?! This family own operation has been in business for decades. This is no-frills, good eats, reasonable prices. And, they make their own tartar sauce! If you want a little atmosphere and a beer to wash down your F&C or F&OR, head to the Edinburgh Castle Pub on Geary Street and order from there. Piccadilly delivers.
MoreI go there at least twice a week and the owner and his family is so nice
